*NEXT STEPS FOR HARTMANN CLEMENCY:
URGENT ACTION NEEDED!!*

*1. Yesterday, we sent in 1011 signatures to Governor Strickland* via fax
and mail requesting he grant Brett Hartmann clemency.

*2. NOW, we need phone calls* to Governor Strickland!! He needs to know
we're serious about saving Brett's life. *Please call: 614-466-3555. *

*SAMPLE MESSAGE:*
I would like to urge Gov. Strickland to commute the death sentence of Brett
Hartman. There is both doubt about his guilt and Brett is a compassionate
person who thinks and acts for others including those in the prison as well
as many outside the walls.

*Quick facts:*

- The state of Ohio has scheduled to execute Brett Hartmann on Tuesday,
April 7th.
- Brett was sentenced to death in 1998 for the murder of Winda Snipes.
- Brett is asking that the State test DNA evidence
- At the time of trial, Brett received inadequate representation.
- While in prison, Brett has developed his artistic talent. He has
donated paintings to charity, decorated the prison with murals, and has
offered informal art classes to other death row inmates.
- He needs your help now!

Fact: the death certificate of an executed person lists the cause of death as homicide".
