Perhaps, if it was a member of my own family who had been brutally raped or murdered, I could decide a lot easier. I do know I believe that all evidence should be allowed to be tested before an innocent person might possibly be put to death. It seems that Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh does not agree. In the past, she has refused additional DNA testing, as she is doing in the case of Brett Hartmann now. Where would Clarence Elkins be today if it was up to Walsh? Thank God he had a determined wife who believed in his innocence. I don't even know this man who is scheduled to be put to death next month, but are we willing to execute a man who could possibly be innocent? What's the harm in waiting until all evidence has been tested? Who keeps voting this woman into office? Not me.
