Prosecutor: new execution date for Ohio killer COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A prosecutor has requested a new execution date for a condemned killer who stabbed a 46-year-old Akron woman more than 100 times in 1997. Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh asked the Ohio Supreme Court on Thursday to set a date for 35-year-old death row inmate Brett Hartmann. The request comes after a federal appeals court last week lifted a temporary delay of Hartmann's execution it had issued in March, just before his scheduled April 7 execution date. A three-judge panel of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said Hartmann's argument that DNA testing would prove his innocence is "debatable." Walsh says the date should be set since Hartmann has no further federal appeals that could delay the execution. Hartmann was sentenced to die for killing Winda Snipes in her Akron apartment Sept. 9, 1997. content.usatoday.net/dist/custom/gci/InsidePage.aspx?cId=newarkadvocate&sParam=31570695.story
