Spent 20 years on Ohio's death row. Released in 2009 after a prior ruling by a federal judge found that evidence in his case was withheld that would have affected the outcome of his 1989 trial. Joe has steadfastly maintained his innocence.

Rev. Neil Kookoothe:
Catholic priest who is trained as an attorney and critical care nurse. Met Joe D'Ambrosio in 1998 while serving as a spiritual advisor to men on Ohio's death row. Rev. Kookoothe worked to draw attention to unresolved questions in Joe's case.
