I'm having some computer problems this night, so hopefully these short answers will do for now. To answer your attorney question; Brett has appellate attorneys at this time, these are different from the trial attorneys, and post conviction attorneys that Brett has had in the past. I know from how involved they allow our family to be on Brett's behalf, the joy in their voices when they can relay good news, or the crack in their voices when bad news comes down, that they care very much about their client - Brett. To address the DNA question; In the past, the state of Ohio has refused to turn over this untested evidence. On July 23, 2011 - they again filed a request for the untested DNA evidence related to Brett's case. We expect a ruling on this during the month of December 2011. For anyone who may come across this post and is unfamiliar with the subject, this page has the link to the filing. www.enddeathpenaltyforbretthartmann.com/6thcircuitcourt.html"Untested DNA Filing" And as I've said in other posts on how to help; learn about Brett's case, share it with whom ever you can, help make constructive thought provoking comments on news articles when possible. Even if you can change one persons perception of the death penalty you have helped someone somewhere - it matters to death row families! You can also sign up for the email notification program on Brett's home page, I don't send out many, usually when a decision has come down or there is a letter writing campaign, etc. www.enddeathpenaltyforbretthartmann.com/index.html
