Cabbie convicted in 2000 murder gets chance at new trial The Ohio Supreme Court has ruled that convicted killer Roland T. Davis should get a chance at a new trial in the 2000 slaying of an elderly Newark woman. In a unanimous decision, the court sent the case back to the 5th District Court of Appeals to reconsider Davis’ request for a new trail based on the claim that DNA evidence used in his case was flawed.
