Kevin Keith wrote asking for letters to be sent to the Warden of Trumbull Correctional Institute in support of the WordMasters Program Kevin wants to have in the prison. They have had a meeting and are now petitioning Warden LaRose to authorize Wordmasters as a formal inmate group. The mission and purpose of the group is as follows:
The mission of the WordMasters Program is to enhance the oratorical and communications skills of the believing Christians in the public forum, by utilizing biblical principles and ethics.
In order to carry out this mission, this program shall:
1) Help members with biblical study skills and improve their oratorical communications skills
2) Encourage members to listen to each other
3) Provide members a chance to learn a fair and constructive evaluation of each others efforts and help them with self-improvement
4) Help members with leadership training and social responsibilities.
They also want to raise funds for a "Sr. Jerome's Poor". Sr. Jerome is an Ursuline sister. The ministry is based the Ursuline Center in Youngstown and is supported by donations and the Ursuline Ministry fund. Its focus is on relieving the emergency situations of the poor and working poor.

Dear Warden LaRose,
I recently heard about the Wordmaster program being initiated by inmate Kevin Keith #295-769. Please consider authorizing WordMasters as a formal inmate group. A biblically based program focusing on Christian communications and ethics could be helpful to the inmates and benefit the prison.
I understand the group would like to raise some funds for “Sr. Jerome’s Poor”. Perhaps this is a way they can make up to society for pain they have caused. The economically poor among us can use any help they can get.
Sincerely,
