Why the rush for Ohio to resume executions?
I am troubled by the fact that Gov. John Kasich is about to resume executions in our state. There has been no public outcry for such action. In the three years since the last execution in Ohio, there hasn’t been a spike in violent crime in the state or nationally. No prisoners on Ohio’s death row have escaped or killed anyone in prison. In fact, dangerous criminals are being held accountable, and the public is being kept safe from them without resorting to executions.
