Email I received this morning from "IJPC Anti-Death Penalty";
U.S. SUPREME COURT RULING:
WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW:
It is still unclear completely how the ruling on Kentucky's lethal
injection lawsuit, Baze vs. Rees, will affect all of the inmates listed on
Ohio's lethal injection lawsuit, Cooey vs. Strickland. Here are some
recent articles, including an editorial by the Dayton Daily News.

WHAT WE DO KNOW:
We know that states across the country will being executing again.
Execution dates have already been set for inmates in Virginia and Georgia,
among others and there are requests for dates in other states.
Currently in Ohio, no dates have been set. However, 22 inmates were listed on
Ohio's lethal injection lawsuit, Cooey vs. Strickland. As the
articles above mention, at least three of those inmates (Richard Cooey,
Kenneth Biros, James Frazier) lost their appeals on Monday.
So we know it's time to begin gather signatures for those facing
clemency hearings and execution dates here in Ohio ...
We will resume WEEKLY PETITIONING toward the end of May:
WHERE: County Courthouse & Findlay Market
WHEN: (Courthouse) Mondays lunch hour
(Findlay Market) Saturdays AM
WHATEVER AMOUNT OF TIME YOU CAN VOLUNTEER, whether it's one hour or 20
hours, IT'S GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
please call Julie or Sue at 513-579-8547 to sign-up for either of those.
