MURDER VICTIM'S DAUGHTER SPEAKS OUT COMMEMORATING THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF HER MOTHER'S MURDER
Bess Klassen-Landis, a member of the American Friends Service Committee & the daughter of a murder victim, is taking this year off of work and touring the country to speak about her experience.
Bess is an inspiring woman with a moving message. She describes herself as a deeply spiritual person who often expresses her ministry in the form of song. Bess's growth over the course of her life is due to the many experiences of a rich family life and work in the arts, as well as the deep trauma of experiencing her mother's murder at a young age. She now has a determination to transform pain into healing. Over time, Bess has come to recognize that sharing her music and her story not only has been an important part of her own healing, but moves listeners to a place of deeper faith and hope in the power of love and reconciliation.
"The justice that I expect in this world is my own heart and voice resolved to do no evil. If I can resist evil and can reach out in love, then I have not been totally destroyed by the force that ended my mom's life." –Bess Klassen-Landis
*She will be in Ohio in September and in Cincinnati between September 16th and 25th. If you would like her to speak to your school, church, or civic group, please contact Julia at IJPC at 513-579-8547 or julie@ijpc-cincinnati.org
