Press Release:
On Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. we, the people of the State of Ohio , will begin to kill Romell Broom. Through the Death Penalty, the people thoughtfully carry out an execution process that brings about the death of a prisoner. This has become a monthly event and will continue through February.
The Toledo Coalition Against the Death Penalty has stood vigil for these executions since 1999. We will again meet at the corner of Erie St. and Adams St. in downtown Toledo , Ohio on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 9:30 A.M.. We stand vigil together with many others in Cleveland , Columbus , Cincinnati , and Lucasville against the death penalty.
Romell Broom was convicted of killing Tryna Middleton. We are filled with compassion and sorrow for the family of Tryna and for Romell Broom's family.
Romell Broom should be punished. Not by killing as he did, but with a sentence of life without parole. The violence must stop.
We stand against the Death Penalty. We stand for life. We stand in sorrow and compassion with the families and survivors. We stand vigil for the life of Romell Broom.
All are welcome to stand with us.

There is a vigil planned to be held at Lucasville also.
